A part of your everyday life
To produce heating for you, we use residual products from the forest around Växjö, such as wood chips, bark and sawdust, as well as logging residues such as branches and tops. District heating is thus both locally produced and renewable!
We produce district heating and district cooling for around 7,000 houses and 700 businesses. While we produce heating, electricity is also generated. About half of all electricity used in the expanding Växjö region is produced by us!
Following the combustion of biofuel, we return the ash to the forest to provide nature with fertiliser. Through this cycle we contribute to a sustainable society and a cleaner environment, both locally and globally. District heating is a smart choice!
We make sure that households in Växjö can make coffee, charge smartphones and keep ice cream cold. Electricity is something that everyone needs, and we are delighted to be able to supply it to you.
We make sure that electricity reaches you through our electricity grid; we do not actually sell electricity. You buy the electricity instead from an electricity supplier. You decide for yourself who you want to be your supplier. If you do not actively choose a supplier, you will automatically receive a temporary electricity price from Bixia, our designated electricity supplier.
The electricity grid here in Växjö is largely underground, and we are very proud of our high level of reliability.
Wexnet is an open city network with a local presence that began as a business area within Växjö Energi AB. Wexnet is now owned by the municipalities of Växjö, Alvesta, Tingsryd and Lessebo and is a non-profit-making company.
Wexnet allows us to maintain our local presence and continue to offer you great freedom, good prices, peace of mind and the best service. Wexnet is entirely supplier-independent. You are free to choose from the suppliers who choose to work with us, according to your own needs. We believe that this benefits you.
